About Our Name
Derived from Sanskrit, one of the world’s most ancient languages originating in India, ASHA means “HOPE".
In English, ASHA is an acronym for A Source of Hope for All touched by mental illness.
For the 450 million men, women and children suffering from mental illness around the world, hope is the first thing to lose and the last thing to regain on their journey through mental illness. Yet, hope is critical to their recovery.
Where there is hope, there is life.
